Asia foaming-grade EVA supply may rise on weak PV outlook

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Asia’s supply of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) for applications in the foaming/footwear materials industry may increase amid an uncertain outlook in the photovoltaic (PV) grade EVA market. A major South Korean EVA producer is mulling switching to producing material with 14-20% vinyl acetate (VA) content instead of the 28-33% VA-content EVA, which is used in the solar encapsulant film/solar panel industry following policy changes in China’s photovoltaic (PV) industry.
