Italy's Versalis to develop guayule rubber research with tyremaker Bridgestone

LONDON (ICIS)--Versalis has reached an agreement with the US arm of tyre manufacturer Bridgestone to research and roll out a technology platform to commercialise guayule as a source of natural rubber production, the Italy-focused petrochemicals producer said on Monday. The agreement stands to combine Versalis' research on the rubber production potential of guayule with Bridgestone's agricultural reserves of the desert plant, and related production technologies.
