EU chemicals output up 0.9% in first six months, prices up 2.6% - Cefic

LONDON (ICIS)--EU chemicals output rose 0.9% year on year in January to June on the back of a spike in production of cosmetics and specialties, according to the latest Chemical Trends Report from EU chemicals trade body Cefic. The growth in output of cosmetics and specialties was outweighed, however, by a 6.3% contraction in manufacture of basic inorganics during the same period.
