US spot propylene prices climb in tight market

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US spot propylene prices rose in the final days of 2017 and have remained elevated in the first week of 2018, as the market awaits start-up of a new production unit and restart of an existing one. US spot polymer-grade propylene (PGP) was assessed at 53.0-57.5 cents/lb ($1,168- 1,268/tonne), compared to 48.5 cents/lb on 22 December.
