Australia's first export-oriented urea plant granted major project status

LONDON (ICIS)--Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers (Perdaman) on Wednesday announced its Karratha urea project in Western Australia has been granted major project status by the country's department of industry, science and technology. Perdaman’s chairman Vikas Rambal described the news as “another positive step forward for the project”, which will comprise the country’s first export-oriented 2m tonne/year urea plant on the Burrup Peninsula.
