UK manufacturing optimism falls sharply in quarter to January - CBI

LONDON (ICIS)--Business optimism in the three months to January 2019 fell sharply in the UK, according to the latest CBI Trends Survey, as sentiment regarding export prospects dropped at the fastest pace since the financial crisis. Optimism about export prospects for 2019 deteriorated at the fastest pace since January 2009, with a negative balance of -32%, down from -15% in October 2018.
