Asian C12, C14 fatty acid market quiet, discussions stable

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--The Asian market for fatty acid products C12 lauric acids and C14 myristic acids has remained quiet with raw material price fluctuations subduing trade discussions. Market participants remained uncertain about the near-term outlook of feedstock palm kernel oil (PKO) prices. Over the last month, PKO prices surged by almost $200/tonne from around $1,300/tonne in early October to around $1,500/tonne in early November. In between, PKO prices have remained volatile, experiencing gains and drops of as much as around $50/tonne over the span of a day.
