Dutch DSM opens US engineering plastics tech centre

DSM has opened an "expanded $5m research and technology centre" for engineering plastics at Troy, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, the Netherlands-based chemicals, health, nutrition and materials company said on Friday. The centre will offer mechanical testing capabilities; analytical techniques, including microscopy; testing capabilities on ageing and chemical resistance of materials; physical material testing, including rheology and thermal analysis; as well as 3D printing capability to enable rapid prototyping, among other features.
