US chemical railcar traffic rises for 4th week

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US chemical railcar traffic marked a fourth straight increase for the week ended 7 May while shipments in Canada and Mexico fell, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) said on Wednesday. US chemical railcar shipments rose 1.6% year on year to 31,075 loadings, after a 1.4% increase the week before. For the first 18 weeks of 2016 ended 7 May, shipments were up 2.7% year on year to 569,126 loadings.
