US, Europe demand for Asia R-PET, recycled polyester stays weak

SINGAPORE (ICIS)-Demand for Asian recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) and recycled polyester from the US and Europe are falling short of expectations, market sources said on Tuesday. The July to September period is typically the peak season for exports of recycled polyester product to the west, in preparation for yearend festive demand. However, downstream demand has remained weak in July, they said.
