Phosphates industry players look to 2017 as market remains subdued

LONDON (ICIS)--The phosphates market appears to be in a state of anticipation with most players looking ahead to the new year, according to sources on Friday. Indian buyers remain on the sidelines due to high stocks in the country and previous purchases. No new tenders or business has been heard this week even though farmers have been given incentives to buy fertilizers following the demonetisation of high-value currency notes. There are expectations that the level of demand in 2017 will become clearer after the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) conference in Delhi this week.
