摘要

Carbides as one of the main constituents in the carbon steels have been un-continuously investigated for quite a long period. However, the carbide formation mechanism from quenched martensite, particularly the θ-type Fe3C cementite, is still unclear although several theories have been proposed. In the present investigation, we carried out an in-situ TEM heating observation on the carbide formation directly from the high carbon twinned martensite.
