摘要

Becoming the second biggest contributor of waste plastics in the world, Indonesia has seriously been taking the issue in the state of emergency regarding mismanaged waste plastic. In the other hand, the abundance trend of low-grade ore (e.g. goethite) also requires an innovative method for its utilization [1]. Solving the problems simultaneously is one attractive way to enhance the value of waste plastic utilizations as an alternative fuel for ironmaking instead of coal. Polyethylene (PE) as one big composition of plastic was selected to be employed in this issue. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of PE-coal blending on integrated pyrolysis-tar decomposition over low-grade iron ore, producing carbonized ones for future ironmaking applications.
