摘要

VC roll can be adjusted dynamically into roll crown by adjusting the oil pressure between the core and the sleeve unlike ordinary four-high mills; thus, the VC roll shape control ability is increased greatly. However, the VC roll mill inherited not only the harmful contact area among rolls from the ordinary four-roller mill, which influences shape control precision, but it also inherited the problem of shape control due to collapse displacement in the stress area because of the cavity between the core shaft and sleeve. Hence, overcoming the harmful contact and collapse displacement of the roll during the VC roll mill rolling process and fully exploiting variable crown are the difficult key points for field research
