IoT (The Internet of Things), The Industry 4.0 and The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) are gaining an ncreased level of attention as they create the potential for the next big step forward in increasing the productivity and reliability in industrial manufacturing processes. They can lead to fully automated manufacturing systems requiring little or no real time human input in the control of industrial machines and systems. Industrialized nations such as Germany, E.U. member countries and Japan have organized national bureaus to encourage and facilitate the adoption of these new concepts to the technologies. Currently, several multi-national companies are at the forefront of applying these technologies to industrial systems.
