(I005)Metallurgical Challenges in Microwave Assisted Ironmaking Prototype Plant

摘要

This paper presents challenges overcome during scaling up Microwave assisted ironmaking process from laboratory to pilot level. This was done by optimizing proportions of iron ore, coal, fluxes and binders and adjusting the viscosity and basicity of slag to get effective slag metal separation. Another important aspect was selection of sample holder in which reduction will take place under microwave field.
