In this paper, we propose a method for obtaining the cardiac motion using the optical flow constrained by a cyclic information with the cardiac motion, and propose a brightness-correction method for the optical flow. The cardiac motion is one of the most important factor for a diagnosis of heart diseases, and can be obtained from MR (magnetic resonance) tagged image in detail. First, we consider that the brightness of each material point keeps to be invariant in sequential tagged images. In conventional brightness-correction methods, a temporal change based on the Bloch equation has been focused. In this paper, a spatial change regarded as a blur is focused, and a bright ness-correction methods to the tissue with the motion is proposed. Next, using this corrected images, the optical flow with the temporal constraint based on the cyclic characteristic of the cardiac motion can be estimated. The effectiveness of these algorithms is confirmed by both simulations and experimental results.
