The paper presents requirements to electromechanical transmissions of quarry dump trucks, results of experimental investigations in the quarry conditions, structural and functional transmission schemes of alternating and direct current with combined power source as well as the scheme of direct control of torque with cyclic converter. It was proved that the development of electric transmission of alternating current during complex designing of electric equipment is expedient to execute for prospective automatic dump trucks with large loading capacity.
