2011 AAOHN Lillian Carter humanitarian award winner: Annette B. Haag, MA, RN, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN.

The winner of the 2011 AAOHN Lillian Carter Humanitarian Award was Annette Haag. My first memories of Annette are as President of AAOHN. My initial thoughts were how dynamic she was and what a wonderful mentor and exemplary role model for occupational health nurses. Her accomplishments are innumerable and she is an incredible colleague. A comment returned by the Award Review Panel was, "It seems like the award criteria were written for Ms. Haag-she sounds like an extraordinary person who has impacted the lives of many and will leave the world a better place because of her contribution to it." The following is the applicant letter submitted by Annette Haag in response to her nomination for the 2011 AAOHN Lillian Carter Humanitarian Award.
