The 2nd international composites design competition for professional designers

摘要

In 2002,the first Composites-on-Tour project consisted of three events:a travelling scientific exhibition,an international design competition and a historical exhibition on the use of composites in consumer goods.Composites-on-Tour-2 combines the scientific exhibition and the international design competition in a new concept.The aim of Composites-on-Tour,funded by the European Commission as part of their"Science and Society"programme,is to interact with the general public on questions around whether and how science can change our daily lives.Composite materials,also called fibre-reinforced plastics,serve as an example of a recent research-based innovation that has strongly shaped our living environment.The science behind composites will be explained in an attractive and diverse way,and the general public's growing interest in design and"life style"will be used as an additional"portal"to scientific innovation.
