Somehow, We Keep Selling Pools

My wife Juanita and I started out in the composites industry in 1999, and continue to manufacture and distribute composite swimming pools out of our Saint Matthews, S.C., plant. The past 10 years have been challenging but rewarding, as most of you who own businesses can appreciate. Needless to say, the past 18 months have been very difficult as we had to adjust to the spiraling economy and its impact on our business. We've seen our revenues fall to those we had in the year 2000 and our headcount reduced by close to 80 percent. My wife and I have been more involved in our business than any time since we began.
