General Motors' Cadillac division debuted the Sixteen concept car at its booth at the NAIAS. The Sixteen is said to be the messenger for things to come from Cadillac, as the company seeks to regain its position as the standard for luxury and performance, the world-over. The production of a V16 motor hints back to Cadillac's past, while the company continues to push forward with its futuristic, design theme. Cadillac indicated that the V16 motor, which displaces 13.6 liters and generates 1,000 horsepower, would eventually make its way into a production vehicle. General Motors representatives at the show indicated that aluminum producer Alcoa worked closely with the company to produce the structural and aesthetic design of the car. Composite floor boards, however, were critical to the design, meeting the company's stiffness and strength requirements.
