With potential for savings of up to 10% in fertiliser and benefits to both crops and the environment, it is little wonder that spreader manufacturers have invested time and effort in developing more sophisticated control systems. Most top-end spreaders are now available with auto on-off for headland approaches and departures, and adjustments to minimise over-application at angled headlands and other locations in irregular-shaped fields where tramlines converge. For Danish manufacturer Bog-balle, achieving the latter has been more of a challenge.
