The Winter Biodynamic Study Group: Creating Community, Developing Deeper Understanding, and Finding New Perspectives

The first time I read Steiner's Agriculture lectures was with a study group of farmers and gardeners in northern Vermont. We met twice each month throughout the winter, reading one lecture for each meeting, and then discussing what we understood and trying to clarify what we found difficult. The collective consciousness, or "group mind" which can evolve in these sorts of groups can be powerful when the same group of people meets regularly over time. What we were able to accomplish as a group was fargreater than what we could have as isolated individuals, each trying to read the lectures and apply the ideas alone on our own farms.
