AISI lauds trump’s decision to name China currency manipulator

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) welcomed the news that Washington offcially named China as a currency manipulator after Beijing let the yuan drop to a many-year low.AISI fnds this decision important for the steel industry and American manufac- turing. It stated that China was, and remained, a currency manipulator aiming at promoting Chinese exports. “We applaud the decisive action today by President Trump and the U.S. government to address the damage, and unfair competitive advantage, that China’s undervalued currency has caused to our nation’s manufac- turing sector – especially the steel industry,” said Thomas J.
