Tata Steel sells steel business in Thailand and Singapore to Chinese giant

Tata Steel, the leading steel producer with capacities in India, Europe and Southeast Asia, announced it sells itsbusiness in Singapore and the controlling stake in its company in Thailand in order to focus on developing Indianproduction base. The new owner, Chinese second largest group HBIS, will expand its presence in the region with theacquisition, which is in line with the company’s “go abroad” strategy.
