In brief: CDL to modernise ssC

Steel distributor and service centre Comercial de Laminados (CDL), owned by Spain’s Hierros Anon, intends to upgrade its cutting and packaging lines at Cor-tichapa SSC to improve the unit’s operation effciency, Metal Expert learnt. The company awarded engineering group Sarralle to supply new functional equipment for the three lines of longitudinal cut, two lines of transversal cutting of galvanized steel sheet and cold rolled along with a packaging line of coils, according to the statement. At the same time, the engineering company will renovate Cortichapa’s several lines that were on halt for several years and adapt the SSC “to the requirements of the current market.” The upgrade is scheduled to be completed by the end of the current year.
