Baowu Steel plans to reach 100 million tpy capacity, going abroad

Chinese top steelmaking holding China Baowu Steel Group (Baowu) is going to reach the total capacity of 100 million tpy by the end of 2025. All the additional facilities are expected to be launched outside China. Chairman of the company Chen Derong officially announced Baowu will be focused on investments outside the county and will “go abroad” in coming years. Local media noted that it was not in line with the strategy of the previous chairman Ma Guoqiang.
