Chinese steelmakers raise profits in March, but general trend remains downward

Although gross profits dropped in Q1, profitability rebounded in China’s steel indus- try in March after low results in the previous two months. It was mainly attributed to seasonally improved demand, which was supported by economic stimuli early this year.
