Operations resumed at U.s. steel’s granite City plant

U.S. Steel, one of the largest integrated steel producers in the USA, reopened its plant in Granite City, Illinois, on August 13 after a short downtime.The producer had closed operations at its Granite City Works asset on Monday, August 12, “due to heavy rainfall and signifcant fash fooding to prevent any damage to our facilities”, a company spokesperson told Metal Expert. At that time, the company had said there were no injuries or damages as a result of the rains.After having monitored the conditions, U.S. Steel, announced it resumed operations at the asset on Tuesday morning. “There was no impact to our customers,” it said in a statement.
