Pertamina authorized to export gasoil

Indonesia's government has issued the state oil company a license to export gasoil for the first time, sources close to the matter said on Sept. 4. Pertamina is typically an importer of gasoil, but imports have been steadily slowing as its refining capacity has increased and demand-particularly from the mining sector-has fallen. In 2016, the company's supply of the fuel actually exceeded demand, in part because of increased competition from other sellers-with Shell, ExxonMobil, and Solaris Prima Energy taking up share in the retail market-and in part due to higher biodiesel blending mandates.
