Chinese and South Korean turnarounds supported the propylene market during the week to May 25. Propylene's price assessment gained $10/mt on the week to reach $1,130/mt CFR China. The restart of a big South Korean plant in the week ending June 1 is expected to pressure prices. Ethylene was also expected to lose some ground after a good performance in the week to May 25; supplies were expected to arrive from Europe, the Middle East, and especially Southeast Asia since downstream plants there were reportedly having issues.
