Concerns about high water convinced HollyFrontier to close its 155.3K-b/d refinery in Tulsa (Oklahoma). MPLX LP's 360K-b/d Ozark and Plains All American Pipeline LP/Valero Energy Corp.'s 200K-b/d Diamond crude pipelines were both down, according to May 28 reports by monitoring company Genscape. Ozark runs from Cushing (OK) to Patoka (IL), near Phillips 66's 336K-b/d Wood River refinery in Roxana (IL). Diamond runs from Cushing to Memphis (TN) where Valero operates a 180K-b/d refinery, which was also closed. Planned maintenance on an alkylation unit and a 65K-b/d FCCU reduced overall refinery operations, limiting the facility's need for deliveries on Diamond, so the pipeline's flows were below normal before the closure.
