According to IEA Head Fatih Birol,carbon capture,utilization,& storage(CCUS),in which a number of oil and gas majors have made investments,will require $160B in investments by 2030 in order to have net-zero CO2 emissions by the 2050s.Recentiy,over 30 new CCUS projects have been announced although industries and governments have only committed $4B for the sector this year.Birol added the construction of more CCUS facilities will help drive down costs.
