Data from US auto club AAA indicate the average US price for regular-grade gasoline gained 3.1￠/gal over the week ending June 5 to hit $2.003/gal-a high not seen since March 30 but still lower on the year by 79.2￠/gal. Regular-grade gasoline has either risen or been flat every day from April 29 through June 7. The national average price for E85 (85% ethanol and 15% petroleum-based gasoline) gained 2.9￠/gal over the week ending June 5 to reach a ten-week high of $1.868/gal, but remains 52.5￠/gal lower on the year. The national average diesel price inched lower by 0.1￠/gal for the second week in a row to hit $2.410/gal on June 5, and it is down by 66.2￠/gal on the year.
