EPA aims to issue final 2020 RFS mandates this winter

Having failed to adhere to the Congressional deadline of issuing final renewable fuel blend mandates under the 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard(RFS)by Nov.30,2019,the US EPA has said it will issue the final blend mandates”this winter.”Two sources familiar with the matter said the EPA planned to send the final 2020 RFS mandates to the White House's Office of Management and Budget(OMB)for approval by the end of Dec.6.It is not clear if the finalized mandates would include the proposals the EPA issued in Oct.that would see more biofuel blending under the 2020 RFS to account for the small-refinery RFS waivers the EPA has issued over the past two years.
