Nigeria's state-owned refineries have not been operational in nine months

A report from state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.(NNPC)shows that its 110K-b/d Kaduna,210K-b/d Port Harcourt,and 125K-b/d Warri refineries have been at zero-consolidated capacity since last July.According to the report,the facilities were at 5.50% capacity in Jan.,13.18% capacity in Feb.,3.17% capacity in March,0.00% capacity in April,1.75% in May,and 2.40% of capacity in June.During the nine-month period in which the refineries were not operational,the plants were instead undergoing renabilitation.As a result,NNPC imported 38.2MM L(240K bbl)/d of gasoline,in addition to other refined products,to meet demand Group General Manager Kennie Obateru announced that the refinery maintenance projects will be extended until the end of 2023， after which the plants will be operating at 90% of capacity.
