Kobe Steel, Ltd. announced on 4th that it plans to make capital investments of approximately 50 billion yen at itsKakogawa Works centered on: a new continuous annealing line for steel sheet, recoiler and othe rassociated equipment,pickling and tandem cold mill (PTCM) and material handling equipment (annual production capacity to be 240,000 tons),in response to the growing demand for automotive ultra high-strength steel (UHSS). The company will go forward withconstruction and plans to start up the new facility in February 2021.
