Japan-based Chugoku Electric Power and JFE Steel have given up new large-scale coal-fired power plant projectin Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture.They had planned to build a 1070-MW ultra-super-critical coal-fired thermal power plant (tentative name: theSoga Thermal Power Plant) in the JFE Steel East Japan Works (Chiba), which could have been the largest single powerunit.
