In the UK, around 4.5 million people have diabetes and an estimated 1.1 million people are living with diabetes but have not yet been diagnosed (an estimated 6% of the UK population). Of those individuals who have been diagnosed, around 90% have type 2 diabetes and 10% have type 1 diabetes.
