REASSURING PHARMACISTS REGARDING MEDICAL ERRORS

The General Pharmaceutical Council (QPhO) has reassured pharmacy professionals over the reflective element of its revalidation process after the government announced a review of medical malpractice cases ordered by health and social care secretary Jeremy Hunt. The "rapid review" of medical malpractice oases, prompted by trainee paediatrician Hadiza Bawa-Garba's removal from the medical register, will be led by Norman Williams, former president of the Royal College of Surgeons, and will focus on reflective learning, openness and transparency.
