Bank of England to print plastic bank notes

FROM 2016, the Bank of England will begin printing ￡5 and ￡10 notes on polymer sheets rather than traditional paper, after widespread public-support for the move. The notes last on average around 2.5 times longer and are more difficult to counterfeit. Just 6% of the 13,000 respondents to a poll conducted by the bank were opposed to the introduction, with an overwhelming majority in favour.
