The metallurgical coal production at Moatize coal mine in Mozambique operated by Vale S.A., Brazil is still at a low level. As a matter of fact, the production volume of metallurgical coal at Moatize coal mine in the period from July to September in 2019 stayed at 1.043 million tons, down by 517,000 tons (33.1%) from the year-earlier period, for which the production volume of thermal coal during July to September was 1.309 million tons. Hence, the product split by coal type in this period was 44.3% metallurgical coal (48.8% in the year-earlier period) and 55.7% thermal coal (51.2%).
