摘要

The concept of using minced skin has been discussed for decades as a means of reducing donor-site morbidity of split-thickness skin grafts and also for increasing the potential surface area that can be covered compared with even a meshed skin graft. However, the majority of these early studies were performed in animals, whereas the current study is truly translational and has brought the technique from "bench to bedside." The authors have previously described their approach and now present a prospective study examining the use of minced skin as a dressing for split-thickness skin graft donor sites with the hope of reducing donor-site morbidity and improving the final cosmetic outcomes. Each patient served as their own control, as the minced skin dressing was applied to half or a separate skin graft donor site.
