With the increase in human activities, the issue of environmental pollution is currently more and more serious, such as metal ions and chemical solvent pollutants which deeply influenced the human health and the environment. Herein, microporous MOF, TMU-22, with amide-decorated pores was employed for the detection of Al3+ and Fe3+ ions in aqueous media. The results demonstrated high selectivity to these ions especially Fe3+, with no interference from other metal ions. This MOF shows fast recognition of Al3+ and Fe3+ with a response time of <1 min and detection limit of 1.2 mu M and 3 mu M, respectively. More importantly, the K-SV constant of Fe3+ was 65184 M-1, which is higher than other MOFs reported in the previous literature. Further luminescent studies revealed that TMU-22 exhibits a high-sensitivity sensing response to tetrahydrofuran with a response time of <1 min and the detection limit of 0.09%. This work would open up a new door for MOF applications in the detection of metal ions and THE in complex environments. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
