European low density polyethylene prices continued to trend higher this week as most European producers reported initiating an order stop for August volumes, sources said. “The idea from all producers is Eur40-50/mt above the monomer increase, citing tight supplies and unfavorable feedstock development,” a converter lamented; a second converter said: “We are still targeting the monomer increase, but the markets seem to be moving against converters right now”; a third converter noted an increase of Eur160/mt to Eur1,320/mt FD NWE.
