Canadian conventional heavy oil turns corner

Houston-Canada’s conventional heavy oil producers-unlike their oil sands counterparts-were the first to shut-in production and protect their balance sheets after the oil price downturn started in 2014. But signs of a slow recovery are in hand now, with output set to grow this year for the first time since 2015, industry officials said.
