Statoil gets green light for project to boost Asgard flows

Norway's authorities have approved state-controlled Statoil's plans to develop the Trestakk discovery in the Norwegian Sea, which is expected to come on stream in 2019 and boost output from the Asgard gas and condensate production center. The project is going ahead after a reluctant Statoil came under pressure from the authorities, which have been keen to maintain development activity amid recent weak oil prices.
