Houston-Mexico will leave retail gasoline pric- es unchanged until February 18, the Finance Ministry said Friday. The decision comes after a fuel-cost increase of as much as 20% in January sparked weeks of protest. A stronger Mexican peso and moderating international gasoline prices allowed the government to leave costs flat, Mexico’s Finance Ministry said in a statement. A temporary stimulus measure in the form of a tax cut also allowed the government to keep prices steady, Deputy Finance Minister Miguel Messmacher said.
