New York-Crude oil futures pared gains made earlier in the week to settle lower Friday ahead of the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend in the US. The ICE October Brent crude contract went off the board Friday at $77.42/b, down 35 cents from Thursday’s settle, while the newly prompt ICE November Brent crude contract slid 38 cents to settle at $77.64/b. The NYMEX October light sweet crude contract settled at $69.80/b Friday, down 45 cents from Thursday’s settle.
